Liberals argue that gay people represent diversity. But that's like arguing that racists represent diversity. It's like saying that the Klu Klux Klan and white supremacists should be encouraged to identify themselves and then recognized and respected for the different point of view and outlook they have.
People who are emotionally mature appreciate people and things that are different from themselves and from what they are familiar. But attempting to argue that gays and gay sexuality represent people and things that are different is like arguing racists represent something that is different.
The emotionally mature and open minded recognize that the immature and close-minded, those who reject natural differences, namely racists and gays, don't represent diversity or a difference that should be appreciated.
In fact, mature people will discourage other people from behaving in ways that limit their ability to experience and appreciate natural differences. Mature people appreciate natural differences, and not the rejection of them, and recognize that it leads to personal growth and enjoyment.

ReplyDeleteNo argument with that. I don't know a single gay person who would disagree.
